I am alone? No one wants to be my friend? Whenever I go to the playground, other kids show me the way out because no one is interested in playing with me??. Are these words quite usual to you? Children often show stressful behavior out of school or peer pressure. Thus a strong and sound relation is very much needed to detect these red flags in an early stage and to make adjustments so that frustration couldn?t mount over the child. Parents are basically the safety net for their kids who have all the resources at their disposal to help out their kids to fight with such feelings and situations.
There are reasons why kids feel lonely, frustrated, anxious or fearful. Let us elaborate this with an example. If we are at our home and power failure occurs, we can easily find out the candle or match box even in the darkness also.
But in an unknown place, this task becomes very difficult even if enough light is there. This occurs due to our familiarity with our surroundings. When we are into an unknown place, completely unaware of the surrounding, we come across much mental panic. These can have varied impacts on children. When kids are placed into an unnatural environment with numerous obligations and time limitations, they often experience a state of stress in such cases. The stress of being lost can give birth to different obligations such as frustration, aggravation, panic, anxiety and fear among the children. In a state of stress, our body releases different biochemical into the brain such as cortisol and adrenalin. If these chemicals are released in a large quantity, it can cause fear that blocks rational thought and allows emotions to take over.
In time of exams, many students complain that their brain stopped working for some time. This consequence occurs due to stress or frustration of the exam. To help the students to fight with any such consequence, nature is probably the best remedy. A close interaction with the natural world in a regular basis can develop a skill among the kids to fight with their stress. Serotonin is that particular brain chemical that is involved in producing positive and productive emotions. There are some activities that help stimulating serotonin in our brain. These are briefly discussed below:-
1. Hearing pleasant music is a good way that produces serotonin. It relaxes the mind and the body and helps in fighting with the stress.
2. We all love to hear natural sounds as chirping of birds, the floating sound of the water in the river and the breezy sound of the wind. Spending time in close relation with nature stimulates our senses and make them work efficiently.
3. Always let your child show things that have positive impacts. Try to avoid the kids exposing to violent scenes and activities, because this may have negative impacts on them.
4. Always try to spend some joyous time with your child so that the child can also cherish the golden time of the childhood. Many activities can stimulate serotonin and dopamine and change your son or daughter?s state of mind almost instantly. Children can get pleasure in nature by seeing animals at play, watching seeds grow into seedlings from day to day, observing changes like autumn colors, and splashing in a puddle.
