(AP) ? A psychologist who looked into a 1998 allegation against former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky told police at the time that his behavior fit the profile of a likely pedophile, NBC News reported Saturday.

Yet Sandusky was not criminally charged, nor placed on a state registry of suspected child abusers, and prosecutors say he continued assaulting boys for more than a decade until his arrest in November.

NBC obtained a copy of the campus police department's investigatory report on an encounter in which Sandusky was accused of having inappropriate contact with an 11-year-old boy with whom he had showered naked on the Penn State campus.

The police file includes the report of State College psychologist Alycia Chambers, who interviewed and provided counseling to the boy.

"My consultants agree that the incidents meet all of our definitions, based on experience and education, of a likely pedophile's pattern of building trust and gradual introduction of physical touch, within a context of a 'loving,' 'special' relationship," Chambers wrote.

However, a second psychologist, John Seasock, concluded that Sandusky had neither assaulted the boy nor fit the profile of a pedophile.

Chambers and Seasock did not immediately return phone messages left at their offices Saturday.

Centre County prosecutors ultimately decided not to charge Sandusky, and the case was closed until a statewide grand jury accused the retired defensive coordinator of abusing the boy and nine others over a 15-year period. Sandusky, who faces more than 50 counts of child sex abuse, has pleaded innocent and awaits trial.

Chambers' warning to authorities raises new questions about the university's failure to stop Sandusky. Eight of the 10 boys were attacked on campus, prosecutors allege.

In 2002, four years after the 1998 investigation, prosecutors say then-graduate assistant Mike McQueary caught Sandusky sexually assaulting a boy in the football showers. McQueary reported what he saw to coach Joe Paterno, who, in turn, reported the allegation to university officials. But no police investigation was ever done.

Penn State said in a statement Saturday that it would not comment, citing ongoing investigations.

Sandusky's attorney, Joseph Amendola, told The Associated Press on Saturday that Seasock's report was "exculpable" and that the 1998 incident was not as clear-cut as Chambers made it out to be.

"We could get five psychologists, child psychologists, who specialize maybe in sexual dysfunctions or pedophilia look at the same case and talk to the same people and come up with five different conclusions," he said in a phone interview.

The 1998 allegation was the first known complaint made to authorities about Sandusky. A woman called the Penn State police department, saying she was troubled after her 11-year-old son told her he had showered naked with Sandusky on campus.

Prosecutors say Sandusky lathered up the boy ? known as Victim 6 in the state's current criminal case ? bear-hugged him naked from behind, and picked him up and put his head under the shower. Detectives say that later, with police secretly listening in, Sandusky told the boy's mother the joint shower had been a mistake, and blurted: "I wish I were dead."

The woman's complaint triggered a separate review by state Department of Public Welfare, which found no indication of abuse by Sandusky.

But state welfare department investigator Jerry Lauro told AP in December that he didn't have access to the criminal investigative file. On Wednesday, he told The Patriot-News of Harrisburg that he never would have closed the case had he seen the reports from Chambers and the second psychologist, Seasock.

"The course of history could have been changed," Lauro told the newspaper, which first reported the existence of the twin psychological reports.

"The conclusions (Chambers) had drawn in her report were pretty damaging," Lauro told the paper. "I would have made a different decision. ... It's unbelievable, and it gets my blood pressure going when I think about it."

Seasock, who worked with Centre County Office of Children and Youth Services, interviewed the boy for an hour and wrote in his report ? also included in the police file obtained by NBC ? that he did not find any evidence of "grooming" or "inappropriate sexual behavior" by Sandusky.

"All the interactions reported by (the boy) can be typically defined as normal between a healthy adult and a young adolescent male," Seasock wrote.

Seasock, however, did not review Chambers' report or prior interviews with the boy before submitting his own report, the police report indicates, nor did he elicit key details, including the fact that Sandusky had kissed the boy and told him he loved him.

Amendola said that Chambers has refused to talk to the defense, but that he would try anew in light of the NBC report.

"Any argument the commonwealth had about privilege is out the window," said Amendola. He said he found the timing of the NBC report curious because it came several days after a judge ordered the attorney general to turn over the psychological reports to the defense unless prosecutors could persuade the court they are not subject to disclosure.

Chambers told NBC in an interview that she was horrified to learn that Sandusky allegedly continued assaulting boys long after she warned Penn State authorities about him.

"I was horrified to know that there were so many other innocent boys who had been subject to this, who had their hearts and minds confused, their bodies violated. It's unspeakable," she said.

Chambers told NBC her 1998 investigation found "behavior that was consistent with a predator, a male predator, a pedophile."

FCC Documents Show Sony Chromebook, Potentially Running On ARM

Google?s Chromebooks haven?t exactly made a splash, but apparently not everyone has been scared off. Sony seems to think there?s gold in them thar laptops, and they?re making their own. For now it?s known as the VCC111 (probably shorthand for ?Vaio Chromebook Computer, series one, 11-inch display?), according to documents and pictures from FCC testing.

The understated look continues with these Vaio Chromebooks, even as far as what appears to be a matte black unbranded shell. A white version is also shown in the test setup photos. But the most interesting thing is the processor, which is listed simply as T25, and may in fact be Nvidia?s Tegra 2 chip by that name. An ARM laptop? Hey, if Microsoft can do it, why not Google and Sony?

At 1.2GHz, with 2GB of RAM and a few of the other usual fixings, it isn?t a stunner spec-wise, but that?s kind of the point. It?s a tastefully-designed netbook designed to boot fast and get on the internet. It isn?t an ultrabook or work laptop or what have you. So it should fulfill that purpose admirably, and sell well below $500 to boot.

Release date is unclear, but they filed a confidentiality request for 180 days after August 15, 2011, so this unit has been around for a while ? but they probably weren?t planning a release until at least 2012, judging by their request to keep the external photos secret for half a year.

Perhaps they?re waiting for Google I/O? Seems a bit of a long wait to release something that was more or less ready late last year. Hopefully we?ll see an official announcement soon and get our hands on the device for some real-world testing.

India a 'loser' in Geneva, says Sri Lankan media

A widely-respected Sri Lankan daily led a tirade against New Delhi describing India as "a loser in Geneva, though it helped the US win'' on Friday for voting in favour of a resolution demanding war crimes probe in the Island nation at the UNHRC.

The Island in an editorial said the move would embolden Tamil politicians to pressure the centre and even resurrect the LTTE in India. It said New Delhi may have extricated itself from a domestic imbroglio at Sri Lanka's expense at the behest of the likes of Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa, but it has "plunged India into an unholy diplomatic and political mire'' . It said the US can now rely on Tamil Nadu to exert pressure on the Centre on sensitive issues "( w)ith Jayalalithaa and (former Tamil Nadu chief minister M) Karunanidhi on its side'' . It said Tamil Nadu politicians failed to save LTTE chief Prabhakaran but have won all political battles against the Centre since his death. "... so much so that even Rajiv Gandhi killers could not be hanged in Tamil Nadu... ''

It warned that the LTTE is likely to step up its operations in Tamil Nadu, "where a situation conducive to its activities exists with prominent politicians backing it... '' . The newspaper hoped that "India will not be hoist with its own petard--once again'' .

The Daily News called the countries that voted for the resolution as "destructive'' and denounced the USbacked move as "a desperate attempt to disempower and undermine Sri Lanka'' . It said they are trying every trick in the bag to further this dark design. It noted that a majority was prepared to vote in favour of the resolution or abstain due to the US pressure and its ability to wield its economic clout in a separate story headlined as "Might overrules right'' .

But The Daily Mirror called for understanding the resolution's spirit, saying its key sponsors have been Sri Lanka's long standing friends. "India, who voted with the resolution, has been a great friend throughout and as (former Sri Lankan foreign minister Lakshman) Kadirgamar once said our friendship has reached a state of 'irreversible excellence' ." It advised against hurling vitriolic abuses and asked Colombo to realize that the resolution is merely "a note of caution made by concerned friends who are genuinely worried about the self-destructive direction Sri Lanka is taking.''

The Island too noted a silver lining. It reported the resolution was amended at the eleventh hour at India's behest "to replace phrase, 'and the government of Sri Lanka to accept' with 'in consultations with and with the concurrence of the Government of Sri Lanka' ."

Anger against India had been building in Sri Lankan press since external affairs minister S M Krishna hinted that it could vote against Colombo keeping sentiments in India in mind.

Minister wants VOA to be booted out

Sri Lanka on Friday rejected a UN resolution urging it to seek external help in probing alleged war crimes committe against LTTE. Foreign minister Dew Gunasekera told parliament that Sri Lanka will resist outside help to probe violations of humanitarian law. "We will not, under any circumstances, allow others to impose on us their advice or solution," he said. Hitting out at the US for sponsoring the resolution , construction minister Wimal Weerawansa demanded the shutting down of the Voice of America (VOA) station, which he said was being used for "intelligence gathering" .

More Evidence Shows That Daily Aspirin Might Combat Cancer

TUESDAY, March 20 (HealthDay News) -- Aspirin, a popular weapon in the war against heart attacks, may also play a role in cancer prevention and treatment, three new British studies suggest.

"We have now found that after taking aspirin for three or four years there starts to be a reduction in the number of people with the spread of cancers, so it seems as well as preventing the long-term development of cancers, there is good evidence now that it is preventing the spread of cancers," said lead researcher Dr. Peter M. Rothwell, a professor of neurology at the University of Oxford and John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

"Because aspirin prevents the spread of cancers, it could potentially be used as a treatment," he added.

But the research is not conclusive, and did not prove that aspirin combats cancer. So, people should not start popping aspirin in the hopes of thwarting cancer, experts said.

Previously, these investigators showed that a daily dose of aspirin taken over 10 years appeared to prevent some cancers, but the short-term benefits and the benefits for women weren't clear.

Currently, a daily low-dose aspirin is recommended for people who have had a heart attack or stroke to prevent another. "It may well be that taking aspirin to prevent cancer becomes the main reason for taking it," Rothwell said.

Aspirin may work against cancer by inhibiting platelets, which promote clotting and also help cancer cells spread, he said.

The papers were published March 21 in The Lancet and The Lancet Oncology.

In one study, Rothwell's team analyzed data from 51 clinical trials comparing aspirin with no aspirin in preventing heart attacks.

Overall, daily low-dose aspirin reduced the risk of dying from cancer 15 percent. Taking aspirin five years or more reduced the risk 37 percent, and over three years, the risk reduction was about 25 percent for both men and women, the researchers noted.

In addition, aspirin was associated with a 12 percent reduction in deaths from non-cardiovascular causes, they found.

In another study, Rothwell's team looked at the effect of aspirin on slowing the spread of cancer, or metastasis.

Their data came from five clinical trials that also looked at daily low-dose aspirin (75 milligrams or more) and heart attack and stroke prevention. The researchers zeroed in on patients who developed cancer.

Over more than six years of follow-up, low-dose aspirin reduced the risk of distant metastasis by 36 percent, compared with cancer patients receiving a placebo, they found.

Moreover, aspirin reduced the risk of metastasis in solid tumors, such as colon, lung and prostate cancer, by 46 percent and by 18 percent for cancers of the bladder and kidney.

It also reduced the risk of diagnosing a cancer that had already spread by 31 percent. For those who continued to take aspirin after a cancer diagnosis, the risk of metastasis was cut by 69 percent, the researchers calculated.

Aspirin also reduced the risk of dying from cancer by about half. These risk reductions remained after taking into account age and sex, the researchers said.

In a third study, Rothwell's group looked at the effect of aspirin on metastases by analyzing observational studies rather than clinical trials.

These studies revealed a 38 percent reduction in colon cancer, which matched well with the risk reduction seen in clinical trials, they said. There were similar findings for esophageal, gastric, biliary and breast cancer, they added.

While the study is attention-getting, not everyone agrees with the overall conclusions.

Among them is Nancy R. Cook, an associate biostatistician at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston and co-author of an accompanying journal editorial. She pointed out that these studies only dealt with trials where aspirin was given daily, whereas two large trials in which aspirin was given every other day found no connection with cancer prevention.

"Aspirin seems to work for people who have had cardiovascular disease. Perhaps in the long-term it will turn out to be protective for cancer, but we need to verify that and get more information," Cook said.

And, aspirin is not benign, Cook said, pointing out risks for bleeding and other gastrointestinal problems.

People should not start taking aspirin hoping to preventing cancer, Cook said. "Most of the studies show that the effect doesn't accrue until after 10 years," she noted.

Eric Jacobs, strategic director of pharmacoepidemiology for the American Cancer Society, said that "this study provides important new evidence that long-term daily aspirin, even at low doses, may lower risk of developing cancer."

However, any decision about treatment should be made on an individual basis in consultation with a doctor, he said.

"Because these results are new," Jacobs added, "it will take time for the broader scientific community to evaluate the data in the context of existing knowledge and to consider whether the clinical guidelines should be changed."

Why Futures Work Most Effectively Daytrading Market | Info Blog

There are a variety of unique promotes available to day time buy and sell, with stocks and shares, futures and foreign currency remaining the favourite. All these promotes has its own benefits and drawbacks for any day time investor. In the following paragraphs, I?m going to set down why I contemplate Ough.S. uslugi budowlane Gdansk stocks and shares (that?s, all those stocks and shares on a Ough.S. trade) represent the ideal sell to concentrate on for any day time investor.

The Benefits Of Stocks and options For A Morning Trader

Let?s start primary with some great benefits of stocks and shares for any day time investor:

1. Volume of stocks and shares to buy and sell: The most important gain that stocks and shares have around some other information mill the sheer numbers of stocks and shares available to buy and sell. There are many cash usa stocks and shares in 3 major geneva chamonix transfers (Lse, Otc pink sheets, as well as United states Stock Game), and every one of these stocks and shares signifies a prospective chance of a day investor. Even on days if the general stock game may not move very much, you may be bound to locate no less than a number of stocks and shares with superb unpredictability and volume. With the two futures and foreign currency, you are tied to a number of promotes to buy and sell the like days when all those promotes will not be transferring, there most likely are not a great deal chance of a day investor to make money.

2. Admission to virtually every tool type: With the increase in ETFs (Exchange-Dealt with Money), share dealers now gain access to a variety of unique tool classes for the first time. Whilst in advance of a share investor who wished to buy and sell Treasuries or perhaps the place valuation on gold experienced to accomplish this in other promotes, how the album works may easily place a trade in TLT (the 20-12 months Treasury Exchange traded fund) or GLD (the gold Exchange traded fund) and never have to head to the hyperlink or futures promotes. The beauty of these ETFs is the fact in contrast to in advance of share day time dealers could only buy and sell the asking price of specific firms, how the album works can buy and sell the asking price of practically any major market or tool type on this planet. Basically, as a share day time investor can certainly still scholarhip you entry to approaches to buy and sell most futures and foreign currency promotes, in contrast to dealers in all those promotes don?t have approaches to buy and sell specific stocks and shares.

3. Specialized support ? Day spa san francisco expert investing firms that accommodate specific share day time dealers than almost every other market. These companies supply teaching, great-quickness primary connections to the geneva chamonix transfers, entry to especially-inexpensive revenue not available to list dealers, work space and quite a number of other advantages to a day investor. In my opinion, investing at one such online loans 1000 $ proprietary investing businesses is the ultimate way to start your job in case you are intent on to become expert investor.

4. Institutional engagement ? Furthermore, i consider stocks and shares represent like fantastic trading motor vehicles as a result of number of institutional engagement in the stock exchange. By corporations, Now i am discussing all those old age finances, shared finances, and hedge finances with massive share holdings. Why so much interest? Simply because when these behemoths are interested in or market an individual share, you may wager that the asking price of that share is likely to move! In contrast to an individual buyer which may obtain a number of gives you of any firm, these corporations may obtain tens of thousands or maybe countless gives you of the same firm. A large part of my own, personal investing as well as techniques I instruct my college students involves identifying and making use of these massive corporations.

Cons:

Now there are some cons to trading stocks and shares:

1. The Sample Morning Trader Principle ? This SEC tip fundamentally claims that design day time dealers (thought of as individuals that exchange an individual security in the same investing day time, and make this happen three and up situations in a five straight working day period of time) need to conserve a minimum stability of Usd25,000 inside their bill. When you?ve got fewer than Usd25,000, even so, you may go around this tip by investing for a proprietary investing corporation.

2. Leveraging ? Some people point out smaller number of control available to share day time dealers in comparison to other promotes such as foreign currency and futures. This is simply for list day time dealers rather than for those of us day time dealers that buy and sell for a proprietary investing corporation. These proposition 19 businesses can provide entry to larger amounts of control than list trading financial records. Don?t forget that control is often a ambigu-edged blade in this your loss will also be magnified. Dealing an around-geared bill for a starting point investor is often a surefire strategy to stop your investing occupation in advance of it even commences.

Summary

Because I may be a bit not impartial in this I day time trade stocks in her youth, We do feel that stocks and shares represent the ideal chances for any day time investor. The wide array of stocks and shares to buy and sell, the remarkable entry to virtually every tool type as well as institutional engagement out there make it possible for knowledgeable to day time dealers to create earnings from stocks and shares regularly. While you will find a pair disadvantages list share trading, all those troubles are eradicated when investing for any proprietary investing corporation.I have to become a kid
